An Update From Our Founder

Hey guys, Courtney here! Hoping y'all are safe and well! It's been pretty crazy around here with the recent hurricane leaving our city pretty beat up. Our store took a pretty big hit, but we are super hopeful because we know that God is in control! It's crazy how quickly things can change..literally in an instant. One moment we are fine + dandy, and then the next, we are evacuating from a category 4+ hurricane.

My husband and I evacuated the day before the hurricane made landfall, so we tried to prepare the store the best we could before we left. We didn't really know what to expect. Although we've been through hurricanes before, we never really had to go through it as adults where you have to make quick decisions and figure out what's best.

With that being said, we boxed up all the merchandise we could into big plastic storage containers, in case the predicted storm surge were to be accurate. Then, we placed everything we could in the back office space because we figured that would be the safest place instead of out in the open near windows. Then, my husband taped the windows with some of the leftover blue tape we had, but it wasn't enough to cover them all.

We tried the best we could with the amount of time we had, the materials on hand, and with what we thought would be best. Again, we had no idea what to expect. You can't really predict what's going to happen. I mean, the hurricane could diminish once hitting land or it could change paths. We were hoping for the best, but also didn't want to be in denial of what could happen.

Unfortunately, the storm hit our city hard. We were devastated to see the destruction caused by the hurricane from photos, but it was so much worse seeing it all in person. We've had time now to reflect and have a better attitude towards it all, especially because we know that God is in control. He knows what is best. It will be okay because we have Him.

Although it'll take some time to restore and rebuild everything, things are getting better everyday! Electricity has started to come back on throughout the area and the linemen have been working so hard and it really shows. So thankful for them! So thankful for the community as a whole! Everyone here is always willing to help others, always volunteering their time, always hopeful, always getting right back up. I'd say we have a pretty resilient community here. So incredible to see it.

All that to say, we are super excited to announce that our store is currently under construction and on its way to being restored. Not real sure how long it'll take to repair, but we are just so happy that it's happening because we weren't really sure what was going to happen after seeing the damages. So so thankful! Like I said, God has everything under control. Even when I start to doubt, He shows me He is working and knows what's best!

So, now that we know the status of the storefront, what does that mean for the online shop? Well, to be completely honest with you guys, I'm still trying to figure that out. Being that our store was our one stop shop for everything— office, headquarters, brick + mortar, all in one, it's really hard trying to figure out how I will be able to fulfill orders at this time. We will be accepting online orders, but shipping + delivery times will be delayed. We are so sorry for any inconvenience, and we thank you so so much for your patience + understanding. We will continue to keep you updated as we know more. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any comments, questions, or concerns, or if you just want to chat! We can't wait to be back in the shop + we can't wait to see you guys!

Love,

Courtney
